Sellers Just Got a New Home on Souq.com!

The storm of the winter this season has been very strong, so strong that it is unplugging the entire Souq sellers tools, sending them off for eternal rest in the Tools Heaven, it has always been meant to be, the cycle of life.
So the day has finally come, we are finally releasing a product we have been cooking for around a year now, a complete redesign of everything you have ever experienced as a seller on Souq.com, and we are calling it “Souq Sellers”, giving it the birth identity of Sell.Souq.com.

We have been studying the numbers, the behavior of the sellers, the outcome and growth of their businesses and how all this eventually affects the buying experience for our customers, coming across a very high number of bottlenecks and a steps that lost their purpose. At first, we had a long-term plan to fix all these issues and end up with a more crammed and clunky system, but we chose the much harder path, re-imagining the whole journey and re-build the whole platform keeping everything we learnt in the back of our heads.
Dashboard
The new Souq Sellers has a much clearer dashboard that gives you at a glance a clear sense of direction, points you at the most urgent issues you need to take care of and a quick summary of your business.
Inventory
Inventory Listing and Management are now more modern, introducing new concepts of listing multiple items through excel sheets in a very comprehensive way, along with catering the need to list item variations (different sizes/colors/cuts from the same item). Mass inventory management got a new set of features that are aimed towards empowering users to manage their business as quick as possible.
orders
Order Management is the essence of the selling experience, providing a predictable and understandable workflow was the first thing we planned to tackle with our new design, giving you faster access to information like the orders that were picked up by the courier and still not delivered to the customer, versus the orders that were delivered to the customers, their financial information (Payment pending or released or open complaints). It goes without saying that the process of the returned orders is now a little (by a little, we mean a lot) changed and are much easier to understand and control.
Financials
Your financial information is a very sensitive area in our system, so the first step we thought of was to make them more readable and easier to comprehend. Along with other changes in the way you view and change your settings (Pickup locations and bank account information)

That’s us scratching the surface, getting the obvious stuff out of the way, making room for what’s yet to come. We are aiming to have the best tools our sellers, whom we view as partners, can use to start and grow their business.
Today, you will start seeing announcements on the dashboard encouraging you to try it out, you can of course still go back to the existing system. We will pull the plug on the old system two weeks from today, on the 1st of February, 2016.
