WhatsApp for car workshops and detailing centres

The service-due reminder, the quote approval with a photo of the worn part, and "your car is ready" — to an owner who dropped the keys at 8am and expects to hear nothing until it is done. Everything about the car in the bay is utility; the seasonal AC check offer is marketing.

What you send, and what it counts as

The category decides everything else: the price, whether it reaches somebody who opted out, and the criteria it is reviewed against.

MessageCategoryWhat that means
Quote: {{part}} needs replacing — {{amount}} — approve or declineUtilityAbout the car the owner brought in. The approve button, with the photo of the part above it, is the written authorisation a workshop needs when the invoice is queried.
Your car is ready — invoice attached, open until 20:00UtilityThe one message every owner is waiting for. The invoice PDF goes as a document header, so payment is settled before the pickup queue.
Service due at {{km}} — you're at {{km}} — book a slotUtilityA reminder tied to the owner's own vehicle and its recorded mileage is utility. The same message with "20% off this month" appended becomes marketing.
Summer AC check, ceramic coating offer, tyre seasonMarketingOpted-in owners only. Segment by vehicle: a ceramic-coating pitch to the owner of a 2009 pickup is the one that gets you blocked.

The approval has to be on the record, not on the phone

The dispute every workshop has: the owner says they approved a brake job, not a brake job and a timing belt. A quote sent as a template with a photo, an amount and an Approve button produces a timestamped tap on the record; a phone call produces two memories. Zanii keeps a receipt for the template and for the reply, both signed, so the sequence is provable months later — and the same conversation carries the invoice, the pickup and next year's service reminder, because it is one thread per vehicle rather than one per visit.

A quote approval that gets approved

Hi {{1}}, while servicing your {{2}} we found {{3}} needs replacing (photo above). Parts and labour: {{4}}, ready by {{5}} if approved now. Tap Approve to proceed or Call me to discuss.

The double braces are variables WhatsApp fills per recipient. Meta rejects a template whose numbering has gaps, and Zanii catches that before you submit it.

Common questions

Can the reminder use the mileage from our workshop software?
Yes. The mileage and the next-service interval come in as template variables from your system through the API or a Sheets connection, so the message states the owner's own numbers. A reminder that says "your car may be due" gets ignored; one that says "you were at 58,200 km in March" gets a booking.
Owners send voice notes. Can we handle those?
They arrive in the inbox like any message, playable in place, and the assistant transcribes them so the advisor reads "the noise happens when I brake" instead of playing it three times on the workshop floor. Replies can be voice too, from the desk, when a photo of the part needs explaining.
Does CST apply to these messages?
Commercial messaging in Saudi Arabia is governed by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission. Sender identity and consent records are the parts audited in practice.
